Feodora first saw the light of day at Primkenau Castle in Lower Silesia on July 3, 1874 and, as was typical for aristocrats, was given eight Christian names right off the bat (Feodora Adelheid Helene Louise Caroline Pauline Alice Jenny) as well as a nanny and a dog named Flock. Feodora grew up in the seclusion of the castle along with her four substantially older siblings.
In 1879 her sister Auguste Victoria became engaged to Prince Wilhelm of Prussia, the future German Kaiser. In 1910 the Empress herself gave permission for using the signature of Princess Feodora as well as the coat-of-arms of the royal family of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg as part of the design for our superior chocolates.
